i keep plenty of cash in $100 bills. It hogwash to throw it in the bank. If you dont want it in a bank its your perogative. suze orman is a smart woman, but she doesnt know the context of the situation when a woman writes and gives her the nickel story. that guy wasn't too smart telling his wife that either.A couple months ago a woman wrote into Suzie Orman and said her husband withdrew $50K of their savings from the bank
and hid it in their cellar during the "run on the banks" thing a few months ago. Suzie says to have your husband put it back in the bank.
I think I agree if he didn't turn it into gold or silver after what I saw happen in a store a couple weeks ago. A woman in front of me was refused her $50 bill because it didn't have a thread in it.
I can't even keep up the changes in bills lately with all the color and thread changes.
Can you imagine holding a bunch of cash and you go to spend it at stores or deposit it at your bank and they tell you it doesn't have a string in it so it's no good/worthless.. SOB you're f-----.
The only safe thing to hold is gold/silver the real store of wealth bought with no paper trail of course.. If you don't like hard money, real estate is how most folks get rich as the dollar loses it's value, and it brings in rent income with tax breaks like it has done forever if you look past this little correction.
most regional banks are in massive massive trouble right now. the feds burying it, the media is too. FDIC is broke and cant be fixed. if you dont think we cant start seeing bank holidays then suit yourself. its impossble to know ehen things could go terribly south in a heartbeat.
If the guy was really smart he'd put the 50k in various curencies that pay high yields, and that can be done with or at banks.
