This is the view from my sister and brother-in-law's vineyard just a 2.9 miles south of me in Covington, Ky. This is a great time of year. I love it. vinyard_view.jpg

Yes, but it was the original Monte Cassino vineyard on that hillside. Much of it was feral grape vines and honey suckle, plus a few old trees. You can't really see the massive (and original) stone retaining walls in this picture. If I find a good picture, I'll post it. They're amazing. Like 20' tall and still sound.

Great time of the to enjoy, great food and great wine.
The market catches almost everyone on the wrong side. We always seem to get fake break out before that huge dump or the hugh dump before the false break down! Trade Safe!

Kentucky is paradise.
I let the market tell me what to do. The trouble is she mumbles a lot, and I'm hard of hearing.

Kentucky is paradise.

Maybe not in February, but right now? Hard to beat. This is some pretty country, even up north where we are. Get out into horse country and it's incredible. Then head east and you hit the mountains.

There's something oddly conflicting when you kick up a couple grouse when you're walking to a trout stream.

Do they use only their own grapes to make wine or do they also buy from California like some of the local vintners do. Today was a beautiful day in the Bluegrass, especially considering how s***y the weather has been for October.

They've got some 400 Dornfelder vines, but they'll be buying grapes too.
