Birinyi on volume

while birinyi is bleating bull, this comes as a surprise to me..meaning VOL in charts are meaningless?
But the market does not behave like a true bull market for intra day action for indiv stocks and i felt this change since mid summer..something did change since then..don't know what
in 2007-08, the breakouts (longs & shorts) in stocks would be great trades w/ lots of follow thru.
Now, shorting do not even work typ even if the intraday setup looks great..

He missed the point. Some people are comparing trading volume between up and down days in recent activity, not with previous markets.
