You can dial 90999 from your cell phone and type HAITI and 10 bucks will be sent from your phone bell to the Red Cross. Small token for all the big bucks we've been making lately. mm

point to remember, donations to Haiti will be huge, but the RC needs money for other worthy problems all the time, so you may want to give the money to the RC without anydesignation like HAITI since they will then be obliged to use it only for Haiti, even if something else serious happens or if they have more money than they can usefully deploy there. Doctors without borders is another pretty good charity, but the RC also saves lives here in the USA.

Great recommendation Mainman, the damage is unbelievable. And the worst is yet to come. It is like a Hiroshima times 2 given the population. It had to happen to the most impoversished country on the planet.

Tried to do it on my verizon cell phone, and it says number cannot be completed as dialed.

I sent a check yesterday. I can't imagine the desperation there. They can't even get heavy equipment in to move the rubble. Mary Anne

For those who still might have a sour taste in their mouth with the Red Cross and its political shenanigans from 9/11, one might want to consider donating to the Salvation Army where donations find their way directly to more that need it under such situations. Monetary donations are fine (and easy to do), but simple necessities such as blankets and clothing help tremendously to those who have little or no shelter. Fib

Try again. That's the number. Perhaps HAITI needs to be in all caps.
