this is no criticism for buying T but just thinking...... what happens to telecom co's one day when the government has to stop buying welfare phones for people? I wonder what percentage of earning hit will occur across the board? no idea

Not much. Not being flip - this is my industry.

A) Not all carriers that are certified for those sub programs participate
B) The one's that do participate have majority of revenue from normal resi service and than enterprise customers. The sub programs have historically been pretty small on a revenue basis.

Believe me - I'm not a fan, but there's just not a ton of dollars here to be worried about.
Before you start trading get your brain around risk control. Know how much leverage you're using and know when to go to cash if you're wrong.
