i take it you dont use stops overnight..otherwise 1126.50 would have taken you out?

ic,

I have not been trading futures for over a year now. Mostly swing trades on SSO and SDS. Even during the past, whenever i traded futures for swing trades, i used to use 20 point stops (for overnight), mostly as an insurance for 3 sigma events.

thats fine..and i am not questioning your honesty as you have always posted win or lose...i am just saying for those who did take your advice on friday and bought the futures ..they would have been stopped out when we hit 1126.5 .

you certainly wouldnt have used a 20 point stop on your recomendation on friday???

also why did you quit trading futures...stress?...i personally wont touch the nq's ever again...life is too short

Nah, nothing to do with stress ! I am only trading my IRA accounts these days.

P.S - BTW, if you notice my posts, i have never used ES anywhere. All my calls are based on cash.

is there something that has given you a distaste for the futures...the overnight monkey business.???..i personally wish they didnt trade at all at night...make my life more enjoyable..

take last night..i shorted more at 1135...i wake up and see that they print 1126.25 and there is NO WAY i am covering...why because it looks like they are jumping the track...then they come back and i cover at 1135....WAste of time!!!

I have seen nothing in my life more crooked than the overnight manipulations in futures. It can be muscled around any way the the big boys want it. The action in cash looks much cleaner always and is more amenable to TA. I would never trust anything that happens overnight, except when they jump the creek with huge gap-ups or gap-downs.

As per my blog/twitter updates I took that TNA long off support Friday at 44.80. Feeling good, took some small profits and will let the rest run a bit longer. Breadth (surprise-surprise) remains strong. mm
