Does anyone know why trin would be so low if everyone is selling? this low number is more in line with lots of buying.

Up volume is heavy on some headliner Banks, GS JPM and GE. Breadth is much weaker on a ratio basis than the ratio of up/down volume. Thanks for mentioning the anomaly.

There is a lot of buying going on, especially in the financials. I subscribe to several short term trading advisories and they all started accumulating longs yesterday, especially FAS.

I believe it is bullish if the market sells off and TRIN is low.. It is Bearish if the market is going up and TRIN is high.... It doesn't happen that often... Barry

You may not remember March 9th 2009, LOL, but on that Monday, headline Banks were being bought and the NYSE tRIN closed around 0.40. the rest is His-to-ry!! spx was probably down a percent or so.

Yesterday the TRIN never exceeded 3 and yet the 5 day TRIN @ 9.46 was the highest it's been in some time.

it is due to volume in C..without which TRIN would be much higher...
