The good ole days of the 80s and 90s where one could build a retirement account of 300-500k with ease on average pay is over. Unless one trades their retirement account for the next 10-20 yrs I'd say all you would end up with is exactly what was put in and no more, no gain.

Yes, those glorious days are gone. That was the time the baby boom grew to its greatest affluence and the indexes grew with it (Who exactly are going to buy all the houses the baby boom built?).

But trading is what we're here for. Gotta buy the Amazons at five when one gets the chance, and never buy Walmart (or anything at Walmart) no matter what. :)

The ontario teachers pension fund is fully funded and safe for 70 years minimum.

It is true that many pension funds are illusory or stolen. Still, very very VERY few individuals
can trade for their nest egg. I'm very lucky, sometimes even smart :unsure:
I'm happy when this hobby pays for itself and a few carpentry tools.
