I think the clock is definitely ticking on this rally for a multitude of reasons.... The boyz have accomplished their goal in the selloff from the top and now have stock in weak hands. And yet, there is an important event come November, midtem elections I believe it's called, me thinks. I see no other way of accomplishing a sustainable rally other than to take the market to new lows prior to any sustainable advance, something that will trigger the bull in the Majority, thereby priming the Greedy and ever ready robots to take action - in this case what appears to be financially desperate action for the Ruling Elite. I don't see how a rally to 1080 or 1100 or even 1140 with anohter selloff to even weaker hands is going to do it, nor do I think they are going to provide such advance warning to get short. I'm looking for funny business to begin very soon, as early as OEX week, or early the week after, with little or no warning. IMHO it could start as early as Monday open because every day they delay now is a necessary day they need to get the pump properly primed, and any delay is just a wasted and valuable day going forward. If they want to ramp this to new highs, or near new highs, they are going to need to get busy very soon now, and get everyone on board. Time to line up all the ducks, me thinks. First we go down to establish new lows, then we head up, perhaps similar to the March rally with little pause, to establish new or near new highs. I realize the market is not logical, but at some point in time timing does come into play. And I think we are there now. :vote: :giljotiini: :cheer:

Wow, so much over analysis. How are you going to trade this?

Hmmm.... I wrote ten or twelve sentences.

I am going to watch what the market does in the next five to seven trading days, and trade accordingly.

Please let me know what your "simple" plan is that is working - I am all ears.

lol - try this:

1. Pullback monday
2. rally on lower momo
3. crack & roll

I for one appreciate your thinking out loud - I know that I do much better when there's some give & take; today's speed of topic is such that the discussion seems to occur in shorthand - that's why 'a picture's worth...

All this is mental masturbation. There were too many sellers and for the short term the selling has exhausted, whether this is sustainable or not cannot be figured out right now.

You can always imagine reasons not to buy into a strong rally. The simple plan is to keep buying the pull backs until the trend changes to the downside. My simple strategy in the market is to manage risk and trade with the trend.

The statistics for trading this kind of thrust up are here:

I wonder, since this is all just masturbation, why there are statistics and trends for election years? Go figure, eh.... :o And, BTW, I think we are heading down, just like what I posted, as early as OE week, and I did pretty well today... :P
