It was Jim Cramer who wrote Confessions of a Street Addict

It has now been 7 months since I dumped my cable TV provider and went to strictly broadcast TV, internet streaming TV (and Netflix during the winter months when I'm inside more.)

This morning, I sniffed a trend day down and so I placed my order for SDS and then a stop at Thursday's high.
Then I left to do some real work.

At about noon I passed by a T.V. and wondered what CNBC was saying about the market.
Then I realized how I haven't really missed Cramer, Mark, Bob, Erin and Maria's market hype.

In fact I feel that I've only improved my trading because I tend to be more influenced by charts than TV hyperbole.
I feel liberated really.

Try it. It may actually help! Sometimes I think we can have too much incoming data.

And if you get really desperate, you can always go to Youtube and see the highlights. LINK
(Actually I paid 9.95 for a "Free internet TV" link and can watch cable programs such as CNBC, FOX and Bloomberg, IF I want. But rarely do.)

Are you an addict too?
Wednesday night we went out with some friends to a Chicago Style pizza joint.
I couldn't believe all of the 20 somethings sitting together texting rather than actually visiting face to face. I could see the screens and some were actually playing solitaire.
I don't think it is a good thing for the social fabric of the next generation.
They should be smoking cigars and listening to BTO, CCR, 3 Dog Night and Hendrix, like I did.
(The juke box, pool table and shuffleboard table were idle the whole night although the place was busy.)

This post reflects great observational skills... and even greater wisdom.
John Galt shrugged, outsourced to Red China and opened a hedge fund for unregulated securitized credit derivatives.

If the world didn't suck, wouldn't we all just fly off?

I haven't watched CNBC in years. In fact once when I was watching a video of someone I respect (I can't remember who) on the CNBC site due to the fact that someone had mentioned it here, I was amazed at how much hair replacement Kudlow had done on his receding hairline since I saw him last. Beyond the junk coming out of his mouth, his voice itself makes me nauseous. That hasn't changed.

Thanks for reminding me of BTO Rog. I had not thought about them for a while.

For those of you yunguns who don't know Bachman, Turner Overdrive, I've added this video of my favorite of theirs.

The sound and the video itself isn't the greatest but hey, he's being introduced by Keith Moon!

Here's one with better audio but, nothing to look at. . ..

I know he's your idol. ;)
Wouldn't you love to see inside his black box?

Here in Tulsa, we believe that GUN CONTROL means: AIM WELL!

Police Capt. Travis Yates said the woman was walking back to her apartment when Carter and Holman allegedly forced their way inside, demanding money.
The woman cooperated until one alleged intruder told her to undress, when she pulled a revolver from her purse and shot Carter and Holman in the head.
They were found by police in the apartment's entryway and taken to St. Francis Hospital, where Carter died. Holman was in critical condition with bullet wounds to his head and stomach, the World reported.

The lady replied: Next time they try something like that there's gonna be trouble!
