My post got moderated from the other day, when I said people should get out of Japan. I worked at GE Power Systems. (makers of such nukes). The media and Japan authorities have been covering up and not presenting the seriousness of the problems there. I didn't mention the spent fuel on site, which poses a greater issue than anyone "in the know" is caring to mention.
Now finally people are saying this is "out of control."

At this point, people will now have to sacrifice their lives to be willing to deal with this.
Please Pray for them.

For those who can afford it, these are prudent people.

Again, the spread of this is going to be worse than just the radiation. Implications are far reaching, the follow on quakes that nearly always come of mag 7, will have even more impact. Potential high for more tsunami's, damage to Japan infrastructure, putting many millions who are already without homes, food, further at risk. The international community is not responding properly to this, nor planning for these scenarios. Its not the billions we are talking about thats needed here. Its the humanitarian effort.
I can't believe our POTUS is not really acting. The people in Japan are in dire need of a lot of people's help here folks. If we have to wait further for them to ask in more dramatic fashion, far too many lives will be at stake.
Now they are finally getting the drift

I knew we had something in common.
Ex-navy nuke; comm'l radwaste engineer up through the comanche peak startup.
I read earlier that they've had a complete loss of water in at one of the spent fuel pools? Ouch!
This has the potential to get, as they say, butt-ugly.
It's about time for some hardened robots to take up the effort to get some water back in there, don't you think?
You're absolutely correct that if humans are going to have to get up close & personal to fix this, they're going to need statues erected on their behalf. Pray for them indeed.
