Since the tsunami; have any reports been disappointing? I don't know of any. It just sounds too good to be true.

No guys.... The US has slowed slightly over last quarter, but overall the spending in Tech is strong with many good electronic products coming down the pike over the next 5 years... I personally do not think this is 2008 all over again..... Companies are streamlined for the most part to make profits...
Right now we are testing 1300 support on the S&P given the high TRIN, I think we are ready to bounce here and are oversold..... We shall see tomorrow...

factor 1 - they had a tsunami and many cars, houses and their contents were destroyed - people have to buy new stuff.
factor 2 - it is very hot and people are buying a lot of cool drinks when they are not at home, pretty reasonable.
factor 3 - they have to buy a new TV or they will be without TV - this is important to a lot of people, so like it or not, they will buy a new TV.
3 one off factors, let's see what happens next reporting period!
As to the economists who were surprised - ain't that par for the course!
