I don't know the details. Tomorrow is the predicted reversal day, does that mean it has to be tomorrow or is there this concept of an orb of +/- 3 days the astro guys describe about astro events? If we turn here today or tomorrow and head into a low the first or second week in April, what does that tell you about the rest of the year? What if we have an inversion? By that I mean a low on the Bradley date and a run up? Is that possible given our history the last few days? How soon do you know it has inverted? I'm very curious about all these issue; It seems to me enough traders follow the model to have an impact, regardless of the underlying "fundamental" strength of the model (I just don't know the details). Thanks Jim

Thanks Karen. I find that people who use Astro to predict market direction tend to be shy about it, although
I think Andrew Lo is actively researching it (so it may be gaining some respect)

Like any signal that enough people follow; it's good to have an idea how it works.

Jim, here is my take on Bradley dates:

They are a load of compost. I think they have a 2-3 day window, and can signal (seems to me) reversals, continuations or consolidations. Trade that.

I note that the moonies never come with a trade call in anticipation of a Bradley date, like: "Hey kids, Thursday is a major Bradley, everybody go ______.

Here is a chart I post now and then showing recent major Bradleys.

I am a rank amateur and almost never post because of that, but my understanding of Bradley turn dates is that they may only sometimes reflect turns in equities. It could be a turn in commodities, currencies, or some economic event (consider the recent post about Japan's dire debt situation). Tying it to equities only is I think a mistake. You must look at the macro environment. Sorry for the intrusion.

EXACTLY!

The last few Bradley dates have seen the price of gasoline go up. :P

After a trip last week in the RV I certainly felt the effect of those gas price increases! I think they call that a loss! Money out of my pocket into someone else's!

I reference Bradley, but I don't dwell on it because it is very slushy and gray. Using the term "turn" can be confusing... because you may not get a "turn". I think it's more like a "trend change or acceleration".

I have found that Gann dates are more interesting. For example:

March 6th 2012. 3 year Anniversary of Bear Market Low.

Now look at March 6th on the chart
