Justice or What

I watch some of the criminal justice shows and am appalled.
The criminal is confined to prison and the show gloats about how he was then set upon by other prisoners and beaten or disfigured etc.
That is so sick.
Here we have various layers of criminals considering themselves better than others.
Its like when criminals arrive at court and people hurl things and shout obscenities.
******* help us when the citizens seem worse than the criminals.
Are talking about someone sent to prison for burglary -- or -- someone like John Couey who kidnapped/raped a 9 year old little girl and buried her alive -- OR -- does it matter?
Are you saying that a child rapist/torturer/murderer is the same as a non violent thief -- OR -- that the nature of the crime/criminal makes no difference?
Are you saying that these TV people "gloat" about an assault of any criminal -- somebody like an embezzler??
Do you make any judgement about the horrific or benign nature of a crime or do all criminals deserve to be treated well -- even yelled at?

Do you think behaving like animals ourselves is justified if the criminal act was shocking?
Of course it makes no difference how civilised people should behave.
Unless you think wicked criminals should be tortured etc.
At this point what I was "saying" I believe in would be based on little input.
There was little in what you said to react to.
I was asking you to add some clarification and detail. Broadly general statements -- with NO specifics -- is little more than doodling.
In prison, a pedophile, especially one like I listed, is usually put in protective custody or they WILL die. A non-violent thief will be treated the same as the rest. In fact, in prison, people who rape and kill children are about the only ones viewed differently. (FWIW, I volunteered in prisons -- with criminals and their victims -- for many years.)
In my experience, with TV people -- and crowds at the courthouse -- there is a huge difference based on the crime(s).
"Shocking" and "wicked" are very intellectual words. You seem to be more visceral in condemning the TV personalities -- and crowds yelling and cursing....FAR more than your attitude toward a violent and/or heinous criminal.
Very interesting.
