The Free Market's fairness and efficiency is often despised by those who seek artificial control for supposed "fairness."
While unions have their place, often the so-called "good faith" agreements are not done under free market conditions but are reached under threat and duress.
Say the name Hoffa and many think of the Mafia.
The final results are seen in the eventual unfair destructive ending.

"Keep your so-called workers," U.S. boss tells France
"...saying he would have to be stupid to take over a factory whose staff only put in three hours work a day.
'I told this to the French union workers to their faces. They told me that's the French way!"
Socialist President Francois Hollande might take some comfort in Taylor's view of his own country's business policies:
"The U.S. government is not much better than the French," he said, referring to a dispute over Chinese exports.

Detroit $14 billion in the hole...

Governor has 30 days; bankruptcy talk swirls...

Detroit faces financial crisis, has no plan to fix it
Think of all of the human suffering in the past few years.
Where's the fairness in that?

It is amazing how true believers are able to dismiss the reality of results.
Some still wish to re-establish the good old days of Lenin and Stalin.

Union controlled governments say that they want to promote "fairness" for workers.
Look now at what happens to those workers when you run out of other people's money:

2013 List Of America's Most Miserable Cities

All controlled for years by unbridled union "fairness" and no free market.

I've often wondered if Jamie Dimon, without a government subsidy, could turn a profit running a hot dog cart. Probably not.

In the interest of fairness...

I wanna pay taxes and get refunds like U.S. Corporations!

Percentage-wise at least.

But no! I'm with the teachers!

May I suggest all those who believe free market capitalism is the bee's knees, just study US history. US capitalistic history is replete with individuals seeking monopolies that allowed them to exploit both workers and consumers. Did that achieve dramatic advancements? Indeed it did. But at what cost? It saved some time but lost lives and caused immense hardship. I know I am getting old but I have never understood why competition is better than cooperation. I regard competition as that of a young child. A juvenile view of narcissistic endeavour. I have NEVER been able to see why ANYONE wants to beat someone at sport or anywhere else. I do see how great it can be to work with others to create something jointly.

The result of government controlled fairness at it's best:
