Guys after thinking about this a while (though cool as heck, I knew about it since last year) I cannot help but think of the ramifications this could bring to jobs and the economies around the world.

Where will the employee's of anything this makes and replaces everywhere go? Not only manufacturing but all sorts of jobs related to all types of brick and mortar etc.

I know new things are coming but can they come fast enough to fill this much void in time? I thought this may be an interesting subject for the weekend.

Thoughts?

I know these folks at Motley Fool, have the uncanny knack of coming to my attention, right around the time the stock market peaks. 2000, 2007, and now once again in 2013.

Would you tell us what it is so we don't have to watch the Fool ad? 3D printers? So it is...I've sat through MF ads before...so they kind of irk me. What companies are suggested?

So if 3d printing can create a solid metal object tool I would say 3d printing is great, I see it in many applications, but let's think about 2D printing... It had a large growth rate, printers were big... But the use of 2D printing is being replaced by tablets and computers... I do think their are applications for 3d printing, but for many applications they will be replaced by Augmented Reality, and hologram... The problem is carbon foot print.. I do think there is growth there, but I don't know how fast it will take off... Barry

fool.com, the worst darn website to obtain any market news from. This website is only about drama and making money from ads. That website that knows about everything but says nothing. Jesus...

yeah I agree about their ads but wanted to see the video. I am not promoting their site just the info. As cool as this is yes 3D printing. I just do not see it as a good thing in the long run as far as jobs go. I see it hurting the countries that make stuff hit hardest. Then it will hit global by 2nd decade. Relax we had a target of 1524.50+-4. We got pretty close Weds. but hate having them open. Many times a close brush then counter move only to come back and nail it and then issue a new lower target in some cases. We were pretty overdue for some 5%+- correction, printing over es 1566 closes it or new targets on this level. Also Re this can change the bulk of the companies currently traded so we got to think in advance how it will. If you trade individual issues and overall. Why would we need Walmarts, gift stores, car parts stores, The rents for these not needed places go poof what will those people work in etc.? a central processing place will serve as a 1000 different stores. May not be able to respond until later flying to Sarasota Condo for a week to play some golf, and enjoy a few goodies I don't get here.
