I can't believe that it's been 18 years.

May we all find peace and the strength to carry on as new flowers bloom in the ashes of the past.

I wonder if all this massive media coverage of these two bombers have in fact recruited tens of future terrorists.

A kid looking to get noticed by the whole world could take a guns to school.
The more people killed, the better his fame (infamy) will become.
We often know the name and all the details of the murderers, while the victims go nameless.

Likewise, a person looking to "right the wrong of the world" can be inspired to seek sick retribution.
Unibomber:
The so-called Unabomber says the mysterious "FC" signature used in his communiques stands for a terrorist group called the Freedom Club whose goal is the "destruction of modern industrial society in every part of the world."

Timothy McVeigh: "revenge for the 'Federal barbecue held at the Branch Davidian in Waco.'"

The Boston bomber seemed to detest the morals of the U.S.A. and felt justified.

The non-stop, 24-7 news coverage of these events (along with the prevalence of graphic violent entertainment and games) can't help but make an impression on such troubled people.
