The rebalancing of major commodity index funds also buoyed the precious metals complex, analysts said. Gold is often among the top components in many commodity funds Between Jan. 8 and 14, the Dow Jones AIG commodity index .DJAIG will adjust the weighting of its components. The Standard & Poor's Goldman Sachs Commodity Index is also adjusting its weighting. Meanwhile, broader investment interest in gold remained solid moving into 2008, with gold held in New York-listed StreetTRACKS Gold Shares GLD.P, the world's largest gold-backed ETF, rising to a record high of 639.35 tonnes by Jan 7. COMEX estimated gold futures volume at a busy 143,999 contracts, with gold options at 27,889 lots. Total turnover in Chicago Board of Trade electronic 100-oz gold futures was 22,404 lots at 2:51 p.m. EST (1951 GMT) GOT GOLD ?! :D

hi is rthis a fade? i cant see gold keep going up. must correct soon, lots of gappo's.

Few people see it going up. That's what I like. Its when everyone jumps on the bandwagon, I get concerned. Its going to correct at somepoint. Though they've been saying that about Chiana stocks for 2 years now. :blink:
