does anyone think I should take profit on these? I seem to have about twice what I started with but I am not sure because I keep hearing how intel is a great company and how semis are totally the wave of the future because everything technologic totally has to have semis...

"The stock is reacting as hard as it is because the market was expecting Intel to be at the tail of the dog — not really seeing the weakness we're seeing in retail yet," said Doug Freedman, an analyst with American Technology Research. "But the numbers at the top line suggest they are absolutely seeing this weakness."

What a dumb assumption to make. Intel long ago matured into an economically sensitive company. As business budgets contract, so do IT budgets. Most of the biggest cuts other than personnel in a corp. is in their IT budgets. Jeeeesh!

Intel Chief Executive Paul Otellini dismissed concerns that the company was hurt by slowed spending in the U.S., noting that three-quarters of Intel's business comes from outside the U.S. and the global PC industry appears healthy.

Oh yeah, western Europe's economies are doing real well. <_<
China and India will just stick with the knock-offs they home grow anyway.
What a load of crap.
