One of the guys on Fast Money was talking the other day about the possible recession. He was saying HPQ was better than AAPL because HPQ computers were "good enough" and less than half the price. That might be a good thing to think about when picking stocks now, perhaps go with companies that have products that are "good enough". Although I find this a little distasteful, WMT probably falls in the category. Possibly Target and Costco also. Has anyone else considered stocks that would be good for a recession?

I bought HPQ this week, utilities look timely. I'm underwater bad on AKAM and NTAP and just want to break even on SNDK during april at this point. That was a bad choice being consumer driven. I just need one point to get out. Fidelity select technology was down $.01 on Friday, that's relative strength. I like telecom equip for the next buildout, internet is overloaded, telephone to build out fiber to the home to compete with cable. They'll all be huddled in the home on the internet during this social collapse. Latin Am is the only bull market standing. SSEC had a key reversal day.

I think we need one more spike on the VIX before the bottom. I am waiting to go shopping until then, but I am making my shopping list. I think defense contractors besides Boeing look very strong. The dips have been amazingly short lived so I do not think you will be able to buy the low - LMT had a dip of less than 10 minutes!!!!!

I think SSEC is scary and I think it might collapse because there are way too many weak hands.
