A big spending acquaintance has been on the verge of foreclosure for months (probably years).
This spring the roof was damaged by hail and he got $18K insurance money to replace the roof.
They put the house up for sale this summer.
They finally got an offer last month.
But guess what?
They already spent the 18K on other stuff and can't close.
You can't fix stupid.
And they can't put a deposit on a YUGO.
