I tried to fade crude oil into the close and I got my *ss handed to me. Oil Spiked hard before I could even get my stop in and I stared at my screen in disbelief as the buy side volume came in big........... That has got to be one of the stupidist things I have done trading this year. I am so pissed off. I am no longer bearish on oil. I am neutral now. October was going to be my best month this year in terms of profits and 5 min before the close I got smacked down like a chump. I just gave back 75% of my October profits this month. I just had to share this with the board as there is really no one who really understands what this feels like unless it has happened to you. I'm going to California now for the weekend so I will attempt to forget what happened.

Not that I have ever been run over by a train, but certainly know the feeling. Think about the guys short the Oct contract with that 20 pt run an hour or so by the close on expiration. This market takes no prisoners. One day a King the next a feather duster.

I hope you have a good trip, but don't forget what happened. Try to figure out what you might have done differently that would have minimized the loss. The fact is though that volatility lately is huge in everything, and could easily wipe out a month, or a year, without the proper risk control. IT
