Note how we "jumped the 980 creek, tested it and then rallied up to within a point of the 1008 resistance point. That's on the ES.

I'm no Semi, but I learned enough to point these things out.

Whatever it takes. I used the hourly for that, I believe. But I start in close, and then move out looking for patterns. Semi always said that longer time frames take precedence, but I'm not so sure that they do on the ES all the time. Still, I look out at least to the hourly if I'm going to talk support and resistance. Mark

interesting, mark; i like this. using volume as a support system for other t/a and astro is very useful. we need that focus from a cool head. i'll be looking for volume confirmation near the coming swing high date(s) i am watching. you, of course, recall the widely pre-advertised (first and most often right here at TT) 10/10/08. then the volume BINGO! on that date, which several of us discussed at the time. the system must be eclectic!

Mark: How are you getting volume for the ES since CME does not report it intra-day?

I've always gotten it through e signal.

Interesting -- to the best of my knowledge (per previous discussions CME) no intra-day volume. Even price (high / low) varies by vendor over timeframe monitored based on algorithms used and whether fast datafeed (some vendors throw out ticks to keep up). Most everyone forgets that we are all dependent: 1) CME providing the data in a timely manner 2) Data vendor receiving data in timely manner 3) Data Vendor programmer and how they implement their data stream / charting / indicators 4) Our link to data vendor 5) Our link to order taker and return and timeliness thereof 6) Our computer system Lot of wiggle room in-between.

I think you can subscribe to real time ES charting via e-signal for less than $100 month. That gives you what appears to be real time volume for both the regular and overnight sessions. If there's something wrong with the data, it's consistent enough to be highly predictive. Mark
