the big shocker yesterday on the news front was CSCO and the forecast for a rather stunning 10% drop in revenues. i suspect the rumor mill was churning throughout the day: *nota bene* that CSCO was down more than 5% BEFORE the news release. the hard dump into the close by CSCO and the whole market was probably not just a coincidence. there is too much money at stake in this game for there not to be leaks of such big news.
it did catch a few by surprise, probably small fish, since it dropped another 5% after the bad news. was this a classic "sell the rumor; but the fact" example? these are fun things to watch and think about today for those who view the markets and tape action this way.
globex is encouraging for the bulls, so far. on the way down, how many times did we see a weak overnight turn into a rout? well, let's see what happens into the RTH open.
comments?
