"If you've heard this story before, don't stop me because I'd like to hear it again," Groucho Marx (on market history?).
“I've learned in options trading simple is best and the obvious is often the most elusive to recognize.”
"The god of trading rewards persistence, experience and discipline, and absolutely nothing else."

Maybe I can help. Please identify a time frame you want to work with. I have several, they are for different time slots though.Let me clarify,
I have a good system for identifying hourly swing trades. But, I am looking for something to help filter out "bad" signals during strong trends. Just looking to improve my trading signals. Thanks.
Something may be of use to you.

Didn't you find the ADX within that DMI?
When the ADX shows the market is trending, up or down, it's hard to argue with it no matter what any other indicator is saying.
Check out an ADX on IWM from mid-day of July 14th through July 15th until the end of July 16th, a pure up trend on those days on the 60 min chart. See if that time your system gave false sells during that time. If so maybe the ADX will help you to filter them out.
Good luck.
Diogenes,
Thanks for the comments and yes I am aware of the ADX component within DMI. You are correct it would have invalidated my signals most recently. I need more time to backtest it, though my eyeballing other trading periods, it may have kept me out of some juicy trades . I know there is no holy grail to this stuff, but always looking.

Both daily and hourly. Hourly, more importantly though, because of the difficulty in "seeing" strong trends on the hourly.

Chax,
Without sharing anything proprietary, can you give some info about what you're using on your hourly charts?
If you're not comfy with this, no bad.
