A former Tulsa police officer testified today that he and three other officers kept drugs in patrol cars to be used as substitute evidence in criminal cases.

The former officer, Eric J. Hill, 32, also testified the officers met after a May 18, 2009, drug search and agreed to turn back in money they had taken because they feared they were targets of an FBI sting.
Hill was a Tulsa police officer from 2005 through 2009 and has received immunity from prosecution in return for his testimony. He was fired after an internal affairs investigation revealed he admitted stealing money during a drug arrest.
Hill testified today in the trial of officers Nick DeBruin, 38, Bruce Bonham, 53, and Cpl. Harold Wells, 60, now retired.

Tennesee Law Enforcement Stealing Money from out of state innocent motorist

-- -
Defenders of the status quo are always stronger than reformers seeking change,
UNTIL the status quo self-destructs from its own corruption, and the reformers are free to build on its ashes.

Women sue over roadside strip search...
Two Refugio women have filed a lawsuit against Refugio County Sheriff Robert Bolcik and two of his deputies over claims that the officers illegally strip searched them on the side of the highway in plain view of oncoming traffic.
Williams' child, who was in the back seat of the car, was also searched during the incident, according to the lawsuit.
The entire ordeal lasted more than two hours.
After the incident, a number of witnesses told the women they had observed them being strip searched alongside the highway, according to the lawsuit.
"It is an atrocity for law enforcement to believe they have this kind of power," said Chris Gale, the plaintiffs' San Antonio-based attorney. "This is America. People have certain protections. You don't have the power to stop people just on a whim or because you desire to do so," said Gale, who claimed the women were stopped only because of guilt by association. The women claimed the officer's actions caused them to suffer extreme emotional distress, prompting them to seek treatment.

Convicted officers will keep pensions
A state law to curb convicted municipal employees from collecting pensions isn't in effect until Aug. 26.

Retired Cpl. Harold Wells was found guilty Friday on five of 10 counts, including drug conspiracy, carrying a firearm during drug trafficking and stealing U.S. funds during an FBI sting at the Super 8 hotel in east Tulsa.

Wells will collect an estimated $4,240 per month while serving what prosecutors say will be a mandatory 15 years in prison. Sentencing for Wells has not been set and he remains in segregation in the Tulsa Jail.

Officer John K. "J.J." Gray pleaded guilty last year to theft of government funds and is cooperating with prosecutors. He also keeps his pension, estimated to be $2,548 per month.

Brandon McFadden, a former agent for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, pleaded guilty last year to drug conspiracy for his role in the corruption case. He worked for the ATF in Tulsa from 2002 through Sept. 25, 2009, when he resigned.
Because McFadden worked for the agency less than 10 years, he would not be eligible to collect a pension.

Judge throws out Tulsa woman's life without parole sentence
Devereux’s case involved several Tulsa police officers who have since been indicted or named in a federal probe of law enforcement corruption in Tulsa.
After refusing a plea deal of seven years in 2005, Devereux was convicted and sentenced to life without parole. She qualified for Oklahoma’s “three strikes” law for repeat offenders because of two prior drug-possession convictions, in 1999 and 2001.

Bellevue family sues FBI over 'terrifying' raid
Led by FBI Special Agent Karen Springmeyer, about a dozen officers used a battering ram to enter Adams' rented Orchard Street home in a search for Sondra Hunter, then 35.
But Hunter hadn't lived at that address for almost two years

seeing the red dots from the officers' targeting lasers crawl across her children's faces also has cost her faith in law enforcement.

Scotland Yard Chief Resigns
July 17,2011
LONDON—Metropolitan Police Commissioner Paul Stephenson resigned on Sunday amid a phone-hacking and police-bribery scandal that has tarnished the police in Britain's capital.
His resignation comes amid a growing uproar in the U.K. over the reporting tactics of News Corp.'s now-closed Sunday tabloid News of the World, which is being investigated by British authorities for allegedly intercepting voice mails and paying bribes to police in pursuit of scoops.

Ohio Cop Arrests Gun Owner, Threatens Execution
The Video is shocking
On June 8, 2011 the following unfortunate arrest took place in Canton, OH. Notifying the policy when you have a firearm is required by Ohio Law, but when this individual with a thirty-day old license tries to do that he is repeatedly ordered to look away, shut up, or interrupted and "forced" to change what he is speaking about by the actions of an aggressive cop who maintains verbal control of the situation.
A two man car dealing with three people put itself at risk when one officer started what appears to be an illegal search of the rear of the car without extracting or securing the driver - which would have given him an opportunity to notify.
What follows is horrific example of a police officer losing all self-control, threatening to beat the female, threatening to beat the driver and eventually saying he should have executed him "and wouldn't have lost any sleep over it" that night.

Just goes to show there is good and real bad in every profession. I wonder just how many times these cops have been shot at by a legal CCW holder?
Apparently, some (like many politicians) think they're the only ones that have the right to protect themselves. That cop should be canned and have his right to carry taken away....period!
