How will The West collapse? - gradually or suddenly

Highly complex systems degrade suddenly, and catastrophically, due to their multiple inter-dependencies.
So I think sudden, catastrophic collapse is the likelihood

Previous human societies were 'segmentary' - composed of mostly-autonomous, (and mostly self-directed) units. Each can subsist after a catastrophe,
and replicate to make like themselves.

But we are living in the least segmentary society ever.

In the UK, almost every vestige of segmentary organization (local government, the professions and trades, universities, societies and clubs) have been
destroyed, or subverted and absorbed into the national government; and the national government has experienced the same with respect to the European Union.

Power and responsibility are dissociated. Spontaneous self-organization - gone. Autonomy - gone. Self-help - gone, crushed, illegal; to be replaced by dependence;
demands for 'rights', subsidies, looking-after.

all of the wildlife would be eaten in one month, two? of the brave who say they will hold their land and shoot it out, maybe it doesn't come down to shooting, maybe they dont have the gold to cover years of slave property tax. most of my preparations are about getting out, so far and so hard to fall, where they live with nothing is much more sustainable.

83 Numbers From 2013 That Are Almost Too Crazy To Believe

If we all just blindly have faith that “everything is going to be okay”, the consequences of decades of incredibly foolish decisions are going to absolutely blindside us and we will be absolutely devastated by the great crisis that is rapidly approaching. The United States is in a massive amount of trouble, and it is time that we all started facing the truth. The following are 83 numbers from 2013 that are almost too crazy to believe…

#2 Because of the lack of jobs, poverty is spreading like wildfire in the United States. According to the most recent numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau, an all-time record 49.2 percent of all Americans are receiving benefits from at least one government program each month.

#3 As society breaks down, the government feels a greater need than ever before to watch, monitor and track the population. For example, every single day the NSA intercepts and permanently stores close to 2 billion emails and phone calls in addition to a whole host of other data.

#4 The Bank for International Settlements says that total public and private debt levels around the globe are now 30 percent higher than they were back during the financial crisis of 2008.

#5 According to a recent World Bank report, private domestic debt in China has grown from 9 trillion dollars in 2008 to 23 trillion dollars today.

#6 In 1985, there were more than 18,000 banks in the United States. Today, there are only 6,891 left.

#9 JPMorgan Chase is roughly the size of the entire British economy.

#27 According to the U.S. Census Bureau, median household income in the United States has fallen for five years in a row.

#28 The rate of homeownership in the United States has fallen for eight years in a row.

#40 Student loans are up by an astounding 61 percent over the past three years.

#55 As you read this, 60 percent of all children in Detroit are living in poverty and there are approximately 78,000 abandoned homes in the city.

#82 Back in 1972, 46 percent of all Americans believed that "most people can be trusted". Today, only 32 percent of all Americans believe that "most people can be trusted".

#83 According to a recent Pew Research survey, only 19 percent of all Americans trust the government. Back in 1958, 73 percent of all Americans trusted the government.

Its really disgusting, total sleaze, pure satanic evil.

This is pretty good, toward the end a guy goes over the new retirement plan in congress. Unreal.

It appears that SS will be done about 2022, mostly because large increases of unemployed on disability,
and then lower numbers of taxpayers at lower incomes.

And certainly if what they are talking about happens which could be Jan the way my cycles look,
is a 30% SS cut.

$200k of my money stolen, at least my mother got taken care of, I guess I paid some of that.

What if there was no gov in the first place and the 7 children took care of our mother ourselves
cutting out all the sleaze and genocide out of the middle.

Florida state attorney Janet Reno was selected to be federal Attorney General.

"Reno's reputation as a state attorney was built in significant part by her aggressive prosecution of three sensational child abuse cases in Miami-Dade County. She pioneered a controversial technique for eliciting intimate details from young children and inspired passage of a law allowing them to testify by closed-circuit television, out of the possibly intimidating presence of their suspected molesters."

Several of those prosecuted by Reno were either acquitted or later released by appellate judges. One defendant, "a 14-year-old boy, was acquitted after his attorneys discredited the children's persistent interrogations by a psychologist who called herself the 'yucky secrets doctor.' Another was freed by a federal appeals court after 12 years in prison."

In 1989, as Florida state attorney, Janet Reno pressed adult charges against a 13-year-old youth, Bobby Fijnje, accused of sexually molesting 21 children in his care during Presbyterian church services. The charges were driven by the testimony of children interviewed by mental health professionals using techniques later discredited as a contemporary version of witch hunts. During the trial the prosecution was unable to present any witnesses to the alleged abuse. The trial cost taxpayers in excess of $3 million. After two years of investigation and trial, Finjnje was acquitted of all charges at which point he and his family moved to Holland.

And after the trial, Janet Reno received a letter from the jury. The jurors in the Fijnje case wanted Ms. Reno to know why her office had failed to make a convincing case. They wrote: 'It is our hope that this case will lay the foundation upon which a set of policies and guidelines are built so that when cases of abuse, especially child abuse, are alleged, the programs in place will allow for appropriate questioning and investigation by the police, physicians and child psychologists so as to drastically reduce the chances of conflicting testimony and charges of contamination that can and will raise reasonable doubt.'

Greece is going to default, Euro Contagion Coming Up

Default Coming One Way or Another

Whether done properly, or with promises that cannot be met, Greece is going to default on that debt. When that happens, German citizens will discover that Chancellor Angela Merkel's promise that German
taxpayers won't be impacted is as hollow as most chocolate Easter bunnies.

I think we collapse nice and slow like Japan and Europe, and like we have been doing for about 25 yrs now. Or since Clinton's NAFTA in the 90s. Greenspan trumpeted the "productivity" at every Fed meeting. What is productivity? producing goods cheaper and with less workers. More profits for the corporations and less for the middle class. US jobs went to "made in Mexico, China, and India" etc. The rest of the US jobs were eliminated by technology, robots, and call help centers in India. Even a drunk or someone with a GED can see what happens. The US population is going for cash wherever they can get it thru SSDI, unemployment benefits, and food stamps. The smart ones are doing like Europe, get a sweet job in state or the federal govt. Police, firemen, teachers, military, IRS, congressmen all have nice fat pensions, benefits, and healthcare. In the military you retire after 20 yrs and start collecting right away, at least $2K a month for the rest of your life. It gets even sweeter if you also marry someone in the military. Double the pension, then you get another job when you get out and work on another pension. The rest of the US has the "New American Dream" of collecting SSDI, medicaid, and food stamps. So we get a nice slow collapse.

Catherine Fitts says it is the slow burn. I have a new theme for what I think is an Apr-July decline, I have seen them roll it out staged with market events, this time I think they are taking out the medical workers maybe soon. If I am wrong about Apr-July direction then it could be after midterm for the medical workers, closing and consolidating about 1/2 the medical capacity and price that profession industry with the rest, that is productivity. The global "human resource" department is probably gearing up for it now. I have a little inside insight, my company has stated they are going in the direction of only making and selling the high end products, the reasoning, only the rich will be able to buy anything, so this ideology is now permeated into permanence. Because 40 year capital planning is not something that changes, it looks permanent.

Interesting Commentary Found:

If America actually has a future as an intact nation, it won't come about from re-establishing any kind of cultural, economic and/or political hegemony over the nations of the world. It will come about from BREAKING AWAY from them.

Sure - China, Russia and Iran will begin throwing their weight around in earnest.

Sure - South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, the Phillipines and Indonesia will have to deal with a resurgent and increasingly hegemonistic China, and it could lead to a great increase in nuke-capable nations in the region and even the outbreak of war.

Sure - Pakistan, as the Sunni 'Janissaries' or, more accurately, 'Ghazis' of Saudi Arabia, will square off against Shia Syria and Iran, and war - even with some use of nukes - is a real possibility.

Sure - Germany will break away from the EU to lead a Northern Union, while southern Europe falls into ruin and Spain & Italy fracture into older medieval political entities, while the new German Union alternately deals with and squares off against Russia, with Eastern Europe caught in the middle politically and the Middle East and North Africa becoming a point of economic and, inevitably, political contention between the two, again with the possibility of wars breaking out at least at the regional and peripheral level.

Sure - Latin America will fall into greater chaos than ever before, as waning American influence competes with growing Brazilian and Chinese influence, while the latin countries go thru another jolting cycle of peronista/allende - like socialist utopian idealism bankrupting them into accepting military dictatorships and vice versa in a cycle of stupidity.

And Africa - north, central and south - will be torn asunder, as Europe, Russia, China and India yank countries with needed agricultural or mineral resources in any direction they please, with rampant war, genocide, criminality, corruption, plague and misery reaching mythic proportions as Africa is sucked dry of its remaining material wealth.

In a word - the whole globe is going to go to hell in a handbasket.

The Bakken fields in N Dakota and eastern Montana are already fading out, but at least America will be able to fall back on stunning reserves of Nat Gas, Coal and Shale Oil (expensive, but still usable). Perhaps we will be successful in throttling the screeching childish Greens and their flower children brethren while implementing much safer and cleaner nuke energy thru Thorium, as well as making some technology breakthroughs with graphene, carbon nanotubes or other organic plastics to make much cheaper, easier & cleaner to manufacture & more efficient solar cells.

But we're still going to be in miserable shape. Even if all the rare earth sites in North America are exploited, we'll probably still run short of what's needed, which, based on china's dominance as a source of such materials, will mean that American industry will have to get very creative and invent new manufacturing and design techniques to produce goods that are now dependent on those materials by using other elements instead. This also assumes that America will become well organized enough to be able to reindustrialize - but with the under 45's so committed to Progressive Marxist Fascism, that may be a pipe dream.

We're in horrible trouble as a nation. I very much doubt we'll survive intact. But even if we do, and America becomes a free country with a small government, a sound currency, a severely humbled and reduced Wall Street and finance sector and a mighty technology and industrial base again, it will be imperative that the nation do everything it can to ensure that other countries deal with their OWN self-created problems, and if any faction or nation is stupid enough to create a set of circumstances that force America to become involved, then American involvement should be executed in such a fashion that the inciting party comes to regret its actions in the most severe terms imaginable.

Dylan Farrow's Brother Moses Defends Woody Allen

"My mother drummed it into me to hate my father for tearing apart the family and sexually molesting my sister," Moses, 36, tells PEOPLE in the magazine's new issue. "And
I hated him for her for years. I see now that this was a vengeful way to pay him back for falling in love with Soon-Yi."
