A customer service manager at a Boise, Idaho, store said, "I have been an employee of Wal-Mart for the past three years and have gone through more required dress code changes than I can count. It is completely ridiculous."

And I can tell you from personal experience that in the Midwest at least when Walmart suggests a change in uniform, it is often the case there is only one apparel store in the area. I suppose it's just coincidental that store is call "Walmart". It has been noted the company could gross as much as $80 million from their minimum-wage employees with this little suggestion.

As for the cock-fight. I guess that gets into the definition what is a cock fight. Walmart had fighting cocks in a pen in the store fighting each other but without razor blades so I suppose one could say it was more a "cock fight show." Either way it was inappropriate at best. Ignoring the false advertising of promising a cock fight and by some definitions not delivering one, as a promotion this was as base as it gets, but then this is a company whose basic operating plan to continually appeal in more and more ways to the baser instincts of its unfortunate demographic.

The other three items in the link you don't want to bother with -- firing employees who exposed the company for selling expired food; stores in New York surprising customers with 16% "sugar tax" on sodas at the checkout when no such tax existed; and the commentary on the company, well as the Walton trust-fund babies, being among the least charitable among the most wealthy in America. Of course, you don't want to bother with those three!

As for Alternet being a propaganda site, that's your label. In fact, it's an opinion site and doesn't advertise itself as anything else unlike say...Fox News which pretends to be "news" and is the behemoth of propaganda in American life. Over the years I've noticed you've tended to label most anything that disagrees with whatever bubble you're living in as propaganda or unreliable or not worth your bother. But don't worry, if your bubble ever pops (as doubtful as that is) there's nothing more alarming outside than fresh air.

By the way, have I failed to notice if you ever post any technical analysis or fundamental analysis or just plain opinion on market matters that are more relevant to the main body of this site or do you just not do that?

Speaking of Fox News I recently watched Sean Hannity trying to get Rand Paul to blame ISIS on the President and, despite Hannity's mounting frustration, Paul just would not do it and kept saying the problem goes back before further than Obama. I thought Hannity was going to go into convulsions. As one of the most consistently comical networks on television, Fox that day gave us a segment funnier than anything on Comedy Central.

When I was broke and got minimum wage jobs with dress codes, I went to used clothes places like Salvation Army and Good Will. "Uniforms" or Cock fighting was what alternet -- and you -- called them. It was not and changing it now makes it no less an "exaggeration", whether news or opinion. You can make up opinion, but not facts. That's propaganda.

2 -- Why have you compared me to Fox News. I have NEVER used them as a source because I know their bias. Seems you feel no similar need.

4. Check out the salaries for ALL non-membership (like Costco) chain stores of any kind. If you do a salary comparison, Walmart pays the same...actually, in most cases more. Check out the far worse problems with dumping, past expiration sales, legal problems, suits with the EEOC, with the KMarts, Targets, all the Grocery and Drug chains, etc. etc.

In the case of Walmart, the left has picked them as a strategic target to "take down"...along with often black mailing others chains to leave them alone with their sins. I find it just plain sleazy how the left feels so comfortable using selective lies and purposeful exaggeration to meet political goals. The definition of propaganda.

I could care less about defending Walmart. I know these general issues are world wide with ALL big business -- especially retail.

I find it more constructive -- and honest -- to look to the actual facts and "whole picture" than cheap "anything goes" tactics the left uses, and has used for 100 years. No legal company is all bad (or all good). I would support efforts to fix what it wrong. You (as stated) -- and the Left in general-- would rather destroy.

I don't watch Faux news (as it's called by those without a fact based argument and must rely on ad hominem attacks).
Don't get it on my antenna. Only get the alphabet "news".

But many who love this country do know where they can find more balanced reporting.
They might even hear a story about Benghazi failures, IRS abuse, Fast and Furious fiasco, VA scandals, etc.
The White House outlets are exposed as mere lackeys and are bleeding viewership.

Fox News not only outpaced rivals CNN and MSNBC — nothing new there — but also it also bested the alphabet soup of powerhouse cable networks, something it hasn’t done in a decade. In weekday prime time (8 p.m. to 11 p.m.) for the third quarter, Fox News edged out USA, ESPN, TNT and a host of also-rans. MSNBC clocked in a 23rd and CNN, 27th.

Maybe the real fresh air is INSIDE the ever growing bubble.
Pretty soon, we might even have a consensus, and then the facts won't even matter.
