dharma I believe we are in for another run up in long bonds via the CB's buying all they can get their hands on. That said, for gold I need to see 1233 broken and hold, then a move above 1260 and hold. Only then will I believe we are starting a new bull market in gold. Some gold stocks showing good action here, some not so good. Need to choose wisely when we do bottom. Thanks for the thread. :)
Peace

jg- i dont know when this turns , but my guees is before autumn. until then i am biding my time. waiting. not making any waves then a few things strike me A snapshot of the the registered Gold depository at the Comex. A mere 11.58 tonnes backs up "paper-gold" right now. In contrast, there has been 820.584 tonnes withdrawn from the Shanghai Exchange so far this year. then there is china w/an unknown quantity of gold they are holding. but by october if they want to be part of the new sdr they will reveal their holdings before the october deadline. what if its more than 3k-4k holdings folks think they have. will that throw questions into the western cb holdings? will folks pull out the red crayon to connect the dots? then there is the curious premium on the shanghai? and the cot that came out , since then it appears w/ gold going up the naked shorts are expanding. dharma

the big talk is electronic money. if it is instituted it will be to prevent bank runs. govt will then decide what you can spend your money on. i would think this will bring gold to the fore. but we shall see the present rally is a bit long in the tooth, a correction is necessary , it may have just begun dharma

Dharma they are proposing something similar here but for other reasons.
1) No transactions above Euro 70.00 without using debit or credit cards in the islands to prevent tax evation during the tourist high season. Imagine the local fisherman arriving at the island's port and having to accept credit cards to sell his fish. Crazy world, crazy people.
2) Buying anything in Greece and paying cash the VAT (sales tax) will be 18%
Paying with plastic the VAT will be 15%. Imagine having to buy a souvlaki with pita or a cheese pie in the streets (cost about euro 2.00) and asking to pay by plastic.
These are still proposals still to be accepted by the so called "Institutions" read Troika, a forbidden word by the new Government to use nowdays.

options expiration 5/26 . it will be the usual drill when i was in the oil biz back in the day. before reagan made oil a free trading commodity, there was old oil and new oil (interesting concept) the old oil was 6 a barrel and the new oil was trading around 40 bbl. well folks just took the certs and made the old oil into new oil and voila they made a fortune. the dea would come in and fine them 25 million and they would just cut a check. things have not changed much, sure the games have changed but the end results have not. just biding my time waiting for the tide to roll in. i think it will reach low tide this summer, not necessarily low price, but it could play out that way. dharma russia bought 300 tons in april
