If everyone is short / in cash... who is going to sell? I guess if 401k people start leaving en masse... otherwise, there's a ton of people to cover apparently.

I have seen the same sentimenter chart from last week. While I think it would lead to intermediate term bullish outcome, it would be hard to predicate weekly spx movement on a small spec net positioning that can go even more negative in the very short term. Btw, current wk (as of last tuesday), non reportable positions for equity futures, while still negative, have covered a bit.
