I have been long SPY for 5 weeks, with a 3% trailing stop loss under it.  The market moved up initially so my stop is 1% down from here.  I was betting that earnings season would produce at least a small rally, but it has not happened.  Friday we were up, until Comey made his email comments, so if the market assessment is that is not a big deal, maybe we can rally on Monday on earnings.  Earnings season is drawing to a close, so its now or never.  The chart looks rather sick though.  If I get stopped out, it could be a blessing.

 

I think the election will be the focus for a while, but i don't expect it to have a big impact one way or the other.  Then the focus will shift to the Fed, and last year the market seemed happy going into the rate hike that the economy was strong enough for the Fed to move, then in Jan / Feb, the fear over the impact of all the future moves.  I'm not sure when, but I suspect there is a correction out there somewhere.  The market is moderately overvalued, and earnings have been weak for over a year.  Caution.
