hmmm this turned into an armstrong thread , where he is the standard.

ok

in 1929 the public was cash rich.  there was an 8 year expansion culminating in the top of 1929

today the public is broke , folks barely have enough savings for 3 months of living

the public is not a big participant as it was in 1929 , also in 29 you could buy stocks on 90% margin,

not so today.

this biz cycle is ending and when it does in 18-20 the top will be in place. i have no idea for the parameters

i do think we are seeing the top of 3 here.  which should happen in this aug/oct time period

there was also a debt crisis in the late 20's and early 30's which saw most of the world's governments default on their bonds, now we are faced with a similar problem but this time a 'new deal' will not be possible because they already went into massive debt starting with fdr. armstrong says capital is moving into blue chips as the market becomes fearful of a bond default.

so far Tranny bearish signal working, Dow down over 200 today and just took out the Aug 8 low - now key Q is whether this is a 3 or C down? we see

looks to me like S&P 2400 area is first really important support, after that it's 2325 area, do we go there? who knows - those are just support levels to watch IF we keep going lower
