My untrained, naive eyes see two possibilities.

Today's high was failed 5th/E wave

Today's high was wave 2 after leading diagonal with truncated E wave at yesterday's close. (3027 - 3000, 3000 - 3017, 3017 - 2958, 2958 - 2997, 2997 - 2980 (truncation))

Remember reading somewhere that leading/trailing diagonals have explosive rally/selloff to wave 2/B
