Since there can be only 1 winner in any war, if this news is true, Trump is intent to win using the tactics of maximum pain.

 

I have several pen pals in China, and they are unanimously nervous.

Obviously, these anonymous sources are Trump Administration officials desperately trying to gin up some leverage for the talks with China. And right in the middle of all their chatter there is this plum paragraph:

Yes, pay no attention to it. Too bad if you're an American holder of BABA, or JD, or any of the 156 Chinese Companies listed on the exchanges - you got to take the blindside hit Friday.  Imagine the chaos if any of this actually was true.

If all of these just for a leverage in the trade talks I see there will be no deal reached from the trade talk.  It's likely just a waste of time again............
