Do you have general parameters for the 10 day OEX pcr for a cautionary buy or sell?  Thanks

I used to use 160 as a sell and 80 as a buy, but not actionable by themselves. Now, I just sort of eyeball the 10-day as one of many condition indicators. How do/did you use it?

Thanks.  I may have looked at the OEX pcr 10 or more years ago when we were using Decision Point, but overall I had not been monitoring too many options readings until Chilidawg showed the 20 day slope of the $cpc last year.  Recently I have been made aware of extreme $CPC readings by Helene Meiser, and extreme $CPCE readings by Robo, and both when back tested looked worthwhile to monitor.  When the CBOE changed their reporting in the last few weeks, there was a lot of chatter at Twitter and here at TT on the lack of reporting, but it seems like all that has been resolved now.  I personally collect all the options data from the OCC, and the reported values at the CBOE and OCC are the same for the OEX, but the $CPCE is nothing close.  The all equity options download at the OCC reports 10 times the volume each day (roughly speaking) than the CBOE does, and the ratios are not close each day.  The best actionable reported option volume data is on the VIX and $CPCE in my opinion right now, and I would use the CBOE reported volumes.  On the VIX options data, for example, towards the end of July this year, the pc ratio was around 20% each day for almost a week before we dropped down hard and fast in the 1st week of August.  Earlier this month on October 7th, the VIX pc ratio was 16% on a closing basis and the next day the SPX was down 45 pts on a closing basis.  The other day I was asking Robo about the $CPCE reading last Friday at 99%, and many here spoke of it as well, and we were up 20 points on the SPX on Monday.  These are all good examples of why it is good to pay attn to these type of extreme readings, IMO.

FYI, the CBOE reports a little after 6pm EST most days, while the OCC data is usually available around midnight.

I think the VIX P/C is very telling as a smart money indicator. I'm glad the CBOE is reliable on the stuff I use most as midnight is mighty late.

Just because we were talking about option ratios, I'll just mention the CBOE VIX ratio was 11% today, ( 167,406 18,435 ).  That is 9 calls for every single put traded today.  Keep those long stops tight, LOL
