Yanno, when 83% of the people who are crammed on a boat with infected passengers and crew for two weeks DON'T get the bug, it's not as infectious as many think. And, in fact, Korea's experience supports that, too. The obvious driver is the behavior of the asymptomatic infected.

With massive testing and tracking, we should quickly start looking like Korea.

Of course, with massive testing and tracking we will start looking like Korea. That is the obvious lesson Korea has been teaching virtually from day one. But it's going to take longer here now since during the month (months?) Trump pretended it wasn't happening the virus started running unabated across the country and is still running.

There are still six states with no stay-at-home orders and eleven others only partially shut down, and still no national lock down order from the President (unless he's finally done one while I'm writing this). The governors are leading this fight, with not much help from Washington, and in some instances (New York, Michigan) in the face of outright opposition from the President. The great irony of this man's presidency is that he was so fretful the economy would tank he failed (grossly) to be the leader who could have stopped it from tanking.

But I'm not a scientist like apparently all you other guys so I have a question. If those last open states never shut down despite all the efforts and hardships of those that have, what will be the Wuhan for the next national virus wave?  Fargo? Houston? Salt Lake City?

Isn't this the truth.  There has still been a lot of nice trading set ups.

Nobody knows right now, but I can tell you with certainty on April 30th.

If an almost 80 year old like me and my stage-4 cancer wife can go about enjoying a cruise at end of February, and I have visited grocery stores, cancer clinic, hospital, and Walmart since coming back and still no symptoms, it goes to show simple preventive steps are better than all the testing. Testing does not prevent from getting infected. It only confirms one did not follow simple prevention rules, and is now infected and an additional burden on medical services.

Repeating again for the umpteenth time, here is what I am doing:

1. no social visits

2. When going to grocery store, carry a good alcohol based hand cleaner and wipe down handle of shopping cart.

I load the cart with items from my list, but scrupulously avoid touching my face in the store.

Load items in trunk,  then get in the car and clean hands again with the cleaner.

I leave all non-refrigerated stuff in the garage (or you can leave it in trunk if no garage) for 24 hours.

Lightly scrub all  containers with soapy water before placing in fridge.

I do not wear mask in the store because I am disciplined enough to avoid touching my face, but you can wear mask

if that will help you avoid touching face.

3. Going to any other place such as hospital or bank etc, again, do not touch face! Carry a clean tissue if you must scratch face.

Wash hands first things after coming home.

Covid-19 is primarily a surface resident virus. When an infected person touches anything, it can get deposited there. The virus can stay alive on that surface from 12-48 hours. You touch the same spot and the virus is on your hands. But it can not penetrate the tough skin on palms and fingers. The virus needs for you to touch eyes, nose or mouth with dirty hand for easy entry in body.

I noticed Dr Fauci is lately repeating the same mantra...do not touch face before washing hands.

If everybody follows that mantra, spread of infection will be minimum.

France just came in with another 509 deaths.

Yet only 1 in the H+A trial to date as of yesterday update with 1524 treated that way.

What the hell are they waiting for before getting everyone on it?
