"United Biomedical is now working with San Miguel County, which includes the famous Rocky Mountain ski destination, to test all 8,000 residents for COVID-19 antibodies -- making it the first community in the country to do widespread antibody testing. The idea, officials said, is to learn from an individual’s blood whether there is evidence the person has already been exposed. With that information, officials can then make decisions about whether quarantines and restrictions would need to continue and whether they need to be as widespread as they are in states and cities across the country right now."

Antibody testing will relieve the anxiety on many people who may have already got infected and recovered unknowingly.

They can go out freely and can go back to work.

Government should issue some bracelet or something to show the person is immune.

This will be great.

Prevention is cheaper than testing and medical treatment and tests can produce false positives or negatives.

Best and cheapest prevention technique is to not touch face after touching anything others may have touched.

Examples: shopping carts, door knobs to rest room, open produce in grocery stores, any item in stores touched by others.

If you have access to hand sanitizer, then ok to scratch nose after. Best is to wait until washing hands with soap & warm water.

This avoiding touching face is straight from an American doctor treating covid-19 patients every day. He has no infections.

This idea of 'test all' sounds like an internet rumor or crazy MSNBC talk.

1. To my knowledge has any government tested every citizen for a virus.

2. This is what we know:

- an infected person can spread the virus when they are non symptomatic

- You can take the test one day and then get infected the next.  The only way to stop this is to test everyone and if they do not have the virus isolate them from those who have not been tested.

What about false negative results?

So testing the total population does nothing.  If anything it could hurt because you are getting people away from social distancing.

https://www.npr.org/...-of-coronavirus

It's unclear whether people who recover from COVID-19 will be immune to reinfection from the coronavirus and, if so, how long that immunity will last.

"We don't know very much," says Matt Frieman, a coronavirus researcher at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. "I think there's a very likely scenario where the virus comes through this year, and everyone gets some level of immunity to it, and if it comes back again, we will be protected from it — either completely or if you do get reinfected later, a year from now, then you have much less disease."

"That is the hope," he adds. "But there is no way to know that."

Sounds like you missed the "Antibody" part.

And suggesting that people will not acquire immunity after getting it and showing anti-bodies for it....now THAT is crazy MSNBC talk....

You missed this above:

"That is the hope," he adds. "But there is no way to know that."

the antibody test is different and less effective then the test for the virus.

https://www.cnn.com/...tion/index.html

Because antibodies can take time to develop, the FDA has previously warned against using antibody tests to definitively diagnose coronavirus.

You forgot to get the MSNBC conspiracy theories straight.

The cold is a coronavirus. Do we have a vaccination for the cold? The flu vaccines are always for the prior year stains. The viruses mutate. Permanent immunity is unknown.

the only thing that will help markets to rise is the end of lockdown in Europe, USA and China. And it will take time for that.....some months

Agreed.

I am talking about the short term.

We may have deal with another animal later on.

But we cant keep the country shut down forever.
