In a bull market, you want to buy the leading stocks, indexes.

I went long 83 last night with a wide stop, closed at 43 manually expecting below 30 on a retest.

If I had been trading Nasdaq, then I would have not taken the loss.

If you make a mistake, you are guaranteed to be made whole the next day, regardless of how weak INDU or SPX are still.

People cite something about volatility risk with Nasdaq. What volatility? It made new highs today.

You are still stuck with a 40% loss on a futures trade here.

I'm done with S&P500 futures trading, removed it from my list. It's a good instrument for bearish traders, that's all.

And small stops are not the answer, especially overnight.

I mainly day trade the ES just because that is the indice I know best because of my option selling on the big SP500 futures and ES.  I havnt noticed a difference for day trading. Havn't had a problem shorting the whole way up to but I do stuck in trades in trades once in awhile if I didn't sell close enough during intraday highs.  I had 3, 1 point profit stops today and am now sitting on one for 16 points if its taken out.  I should maybe lower to 3154 just in case so I get an even 20 points on the day lol!!

You ever thought about investing for other people as a % of your profits?

Already do that for option selling, not for day trading, do that for fun through my company!

With very few exceptions, Ive been long NQs when Im long and when Im short, short ES/RTY.  I have posted multiple times about shorting lagging indexes only and long the strongest indexes only.  There are some exceptions for extreme overbought/oversold conditions.  Also, as long as I've been around here, I've seen most the veteran traders talk about this from time to time.  maybe this message gets forgotten over time?
