Here is the map.  Dex posted the same set up yesterday with his chart.  The weekly 10ema/50ema is basically the same thing as the 50 day and 200 day.  The 10e is well abv the 50 e right now, so as we approach spx 3250-3325 that would be the time to pull the trigger, and hopefully at the August monthly expiry the 21st.  Then just reload around Tgiving or 1st week of December.  50% profit in a year.  Thank J POW when you pay your capital gain tax bill in 2023.

Yeah great advice, and thank you! So I will be selling in August this year.

And not  paying cap gains if I sell in August 2020. Thanks to tax differed IRA's and Variable Annuities.

Reason I got into VA's because you can invest unlimited amounts and 100% tax differed. Only negative with VA is the .25% extra charge for death benefits. That is worth the cost because you can shove in millions in VA's.

That is why I advise all young people, and I mean really young people who are just entering the work place after various education levels to only save in the ROTH IRA.  As long as they leave the rules as is, there is no tax on capital gains during the withdrawal periods at 59.5 years of age or older.  I believe that will yield enormous total return savings for those basic buy and hold strategies over a 40 year time frame.  I was fortunate they offered a conversion window so I could open that type of acct with some seed money to get started.  I had to save in the traditionals for about 20 years before the Roths were created.  I trade futures contracts in my Roths almost every day.

Makes sense, because the tax deduction IRA gives you in the current year could easily be dwarfed by possible savings in taxes when RMD kicks in.
