I thought the "decision" happens at about 2 pm EST today (Wednesday 16 Sept).  Is my calendar out of whack or did it get postponed for some reason or another??  Serious volatility would be a bit of a surprise given they have pretty much run out of rabbits to pull out of the hat and promised at the last presser to print endlessly until the blind, measurement challenged at the BLS finally see inflation.  Who knows, maybe Jerry has something new up his sleeve just to juice the DOW some more.  Every little bit helps you know.

Regards,

Douglas

With the USA losing over 200,000 souls to Covid, a second wave brewing in Europe, what more could go wrong?

I'm not sure what my future holds... But I know who holds it.

2nd wave likely very nearly done in Europe (UK may be a week or 2 behind)....and almost no death on it...

So...so far, so good.smile.png

K Wave, have you commented on your thoughts what the landscape looks like with ongoing very low death rates and no reliable vaccine for years?  We just adapt and learn to live with it so to speak.  Thanks

My thoughts are that this is not a concern for anyone but a tiny portion of the population who have let their health get away from them. (with perhaps the occasional oddball that fearful people will quote incessantly to justify their fear)

And the evidence is getting overwhelming that Vitamin D is playing a huge part in Covid survival (not only in Covid by the way, but in all sorts of immune response diseases).

So if you are older, get your levels checked and supplement as needed. The evidence I have seen suggests nearly a direct linear relationship to lower serum levels and chances of dying from Covid. If you keep it above 40 (even 35 seems adequate), virtually no one dies, hospitalized or not.

This is especially important if you have family in elder care homes, as they are quite likely nowhere near where they should be naturally with serum levels due to extensive indoor living.

This is very likely the number one reason (in addition to obesity) the Black community got hit harder in the USA, due their bodies being designed to live in the lower latitudes. They consistently run about 20 points lower than lighter skinned people in the USA in serum Vitamin D levels. Note: having a Black wife and half Black kids, I had a very vested interest in deep diving on this subject.

And early treatment is now much more effective. Almost no one is going to the hospital any more. Don't go the the hospital, and very likely you are not going to die from it.
For instance, In our county (Travis TX) of 1.3 million people, we now have only 80 people in the hospital, and only 30 of those in ICU (with Covid, not necessarily from Covid). Other big cities in Texas with near identical numbers relative to size.

Bottom line: Going forward, Covid will likely be much less deadly than the flu, as we are clearly seeing in Europe right now. The evidence is pretty strong that if you have a reasonably healthy immune system, and adequate Vitamin D, you will likely knock this out with no symptoms or very light symptoms. If you are somewhat compromised, then Vitamin D plays a much bigger role.

And possibly due to all the research on Covid, hopefully flu can also be treated better going forward as well.

Thanks, always appreciate the information you provide.  Your comments make me think it will be an interesting flu season coming up with respect to the idea that germs being passed around might be far less if the new protocols really work.
