I do follow your posts with interest and appreciate your contributions.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.   I know Mark took down several related to the election.  I'm an independent so don't get caught up in the Republican or Democratic issue of he's my guy.     Was sorry to see them removed as thought I offered some insight, but this is a trading board, so I get it.

All is well now.

Glad to hear it and I hope he has fully recovered.

We all have our trials and tribulations.   I myself lost my sight in my left eye in 2016 do to Chloroidal Melanoma cancer.

I had never heard of it -- but would encourage everyone to get an annual eye exam preferably with an ophthalmologist.

FWIW this has nothing to do with this thread.   My reasons are detailed in the above posts.

Haha while all you frequent traders were making your broker richer,

I was enjoying playing golf in sunshine and fresh air.

My 1 or 2 trades a year in index funds has given me time & money to play golf at a private golf courses

The biggest benefit? At age 80 I am looking to join a ballet dancing class! I can easily clear a 4 foot high hurdle.

If somebody had told me at age 25 I would feel this great at age 80 from regular exercise of playing golf,

I would have snickered.  I see that my classmates are all either dead or can't walk without a stick. May be they

were day trading too much.

Nice love that!  I used to play tennis with a 96 year old guy, he was still pretty good!!  Curious do you stretch a lot??  Agree about having more fun.  That is the nice thing about selling option premium, you do the trade then walk away to near the end of the cycle takes away all the noise inbetween!!!

Golf is mainly walking 6 miles during a round at normal brisk pace. I never need to stretch before the round.

Most important is to find any form of exercise which you can do without getting bored. I have played a lot of tennis during my younger years. But it gets repetitious playing with the same opponent and also can be hard on elbows and wrists. In golf every shot is different.

Many golfers end up with back issues. I never had those because i have a naturally smooth swing. The thought in my brain for every shot is 80% power, not 100% of my possible power. That not only saves the back, but it also results in a more dependable shot.

Since moving to Florida, I have not joined a private golf club. At my age of 80, the joining fee $25k to $50k is a bad risk.

So now it is boring treadmill, but I must not stop that exercise otherwise I will soon need a doctor. Right now my medical expenses are zero. Medicare is very happy, they collect my monthly premiums but don't get any bills to pay.. I also believe regular exercise helps resist cancer.

PDX5:  I also believe regular exercise helps resist cancer.

I, like yourself, was, and am in great shape.

I know a guy who did triathlons who had a great standing heart rate, but died at 56.  From what, don't recall, but NOT an accident.

My mothers 100, and I tell her 120 is a possibility how fit she is.   She's had cancer 3 times.

While exercise may help, based on my research when I developed Chloroidal Melanoma, cancer is more of chance, and the function of age.

Every cell in the human body is replaced periodically.   If I recall correctly, our skin is replaced every 7 to 10 days and our bones every 14 years.

During this replacement process, mutations can occur, and it is these mutations that cause most cancers.

While one may think, I got good genes because my parents lived to N years without an issue, IMHO no one can predict when ones cells will mutate during this replacement process.

The reason age plays a large role is that one will experience more cell replacements during ones lifetime the longer they live.
