Had my 2nd shot of Moderna vaccine on Thursday. On Thursday I felt no different. On Friday woke up feeling like a flu was coming with chills and moderate body aches. Took a Tylenol 500 mg pill which helped. Never recorded fever on the oral thermometer. On Saturday morning woke up feeling almost normal. I was told by someone who is more knowledgeable that my body reaction shows that the 1st shot created defenses against the virus and the body mounted a more vigorous response with the 2nd shot having recognized virus proteins. Anyway just took it easy for 3 days, will resume my daily gym routine today.

A 70 year old friend with prostate cancer reported similar reactions from the two injections.

My wife recently had an epidural cortizone injection for back pain.

She was told by the doctor to not get the covid shot for a couple of weeks after her treatment.

Smart move. Space out sufficiently any other treatments especially with the 2nd shot.

The 1st shot is mainly introducing the virus signature proteins to your body's immune system.

If you never had covid-19 attack (different from a low level infection which can cause testing positive)

The body has no reason to mount a serious defensive reaction. But when the 2nd shot is administered, the body recognizes it,

and mounts a more serious defensive reaction. My symptoms after the 2nd shot were very minor discomfort lasting only 1 day.

But my spouse had chemo treatment 2 days before the 2nd shot, and she is still experiencing serious nausea on 4th day after shot.

Chemo always gives her some nausea for 5-7 days after. This time it was much higher level nausea after 2nd shot.

Sounds interestng and exactly how I was when I actually got it without body aches.  Mostly just felt tired but since I have had it I have no intention of getting the shot.

Resumed my daily exercise 35 for minutes yesterday after taking a 3 day break due to 2nd shot of vaccine.

This is my DAILY routine, 25 minutes with treadmill set 2 degrees up-slope, covering one mile, and 2 lb wrist weights.

Then lift light weights (20 lbs) 30+ times. It is great convenience to have the community gym 150 yards from our house.

No colds, no flu, no heart disease, for last 5 years with this daily routine. I highly  recommend it, but start easy.
