Maybe not, it's a different trading environment. But, markets are priced for perfection and since this is not a perfect world then expect more pullbacks than rallies during the next month or so.

"DecisionPoint tracks six-month seasonality, and we are now entering a period of unfavorable seasonality. Typically, between May 1st and November 1st, the market experiences doldrums and finishes either lower or unchanged. That clearly occurred in 2020. The market finished the period of unfavorable seasonality slightly higher than where it was at the beginning of May. It then finished the period of favorable seasonality much higher.

Have a great weekend! Seasonally bullish April done & #ES_F is 100 pts away from major resistance of a 5 yr "megaphone" Plan next week: As long as 4130 holds, 1 leg left to 4280 where good pullback likely. Warning though: 4130 fails 1st & we sell direct to 4k where Id buy. $SPX

4180 was recovered by the BULLS on Friday.

TIC TOC:

Folks:

Few thoughts for next week.

Weekly range was extremely small. This is bound to lead to significant release of volatility (200 point week).

However near term, as long as above 4180, I expect another swipe at 4210. It will either fail or if successful, 4255 will trade.

Now 4180.

Michael Santoli

The S&P 500 stalled and flickered around the 2100 level for six months starting in early 2015 before buckling late that summer. The index has been hesitating around 4200 for two weeks now. 4200 is exactly double 2100. Dots connected, case rested...

Large speculators added $20.7 billion in net long positions to major equity index futures this week. That's the 5th-highest amount in a single week in history.

See Charts at:

CONCLUSION: We are entering a period of unfavorable seasonality next month. While a market pullback about now would be amazingly accurate, seasonality doesn't guarantee a certain outcome.
