I think this is real bullish for the markets .... if the Fed cant even hold a conference  now because Covid is so bad - when they finally do meet my bet is the tone will be much more Dovish

“Due to the recently-elevated Covid-19 health risk level,” the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank said in a statement on its website, its annual economic policy conference will convene virtually on Friday, August 27.

I'm seeing what looks like a 1% death rate among vaccinated cases. It's tricky and hard to trust the data, but deaths are hard to tweak. I'd say that this is part of what's keeping the long bond up. It may presage more lockdowns,  however, which might be Bearish near term.

delta variants peaked 45 days into, in India, UK, for Florida 40 days after.  In places, the cases still declining even after schools started.

Mark, how did you arrive at 1% death rates among vaccinated?

Here is an excerpt from VAERS:

More than 331 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through July 6, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 5,946 reports of death (0.0018%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine.

The death rate from vaccines is running at less than 0.002% not 1%.

1% of the vaccinated cases have died from covid. That's pretty simple math. They're not dying from the vaccine, but the vaccine didn't save them, either.

https://www.nbcnews....s-have-n1275500

I winnowed this out from the Massachusetts death and hospitalization reports earlier. BTW, it looks like 4% of the vaccinated cases required hospitalization.

This is probably not cause for a total freak out, since the elderly were the first vaccinated, and thus are going to be the first with waning immunity. And, being elderly, they're much more likely to die, period. BUT, if experience is any guide, governors WILL freak out and petty tyrants will not be suppressed, and there WILL be shut-downs. They'll still be pointless and destructive, but that doesn't matter to many.

I'm being very cautious.

I sit 6 feet from my computer screen.

I think that should be a mandate.

It's a Windows machine and they have always been vulnerable to virus.

That's why Bill Gates is now a virus expert too.  purebs.gif
