I have a question, why are flu shots updated every year?

So they can try 4 different strains and even if they get the strain right, it's still like 60% effective.

I think your 60% effective is ridiculously optimistic. Look up the independent Cochrane review. 71 healthy adults need to be injected with the flu jab in order to benefit one. Those are very poor odds. Almost everybody I know who gets the flu shot either gets the flu from the shot, or the actual flu in the same season Meanwhile I haven't had the flu in decades and have never taken the shot.

There are different strains of flu viruses that circulate every season. Also, they can combine and/or mutate to form variants. The vaccine that worked well one season may be ineffective the next. To deal with this, there is continuous surveilliance of the types that are circulating around the world to estimate which are most likely to be heading here the following season.  It's an educated guess that leads to reducing risk anywhere from 20%-30% in a bad year and about 60%, which is more typical.

Most flu vaccines include 3-4 strains. There are ongoing efforts to develop a universal vaccine that would be protective against all strains and variants. Ideally, it would be long lasting - perhaps last many years - or need annual injections. Research is ongoing for vaccines for HIV, tuberculosis and malaria as well as for cancers. Promising work has been done leading us closer to these goals.

We already have a universal vaccine. it's called the "IMMUNE SYSTEM." What's wrong with you people that think health comes from the tip of a needle? You really need to get back to reality. It's the jabs causing the Effing cancers.

The flu vaccine protects against severe infection. 80% of the children who die from the flu have not been vaccinated. Generally, it's most virulent for the elderly, the immunocompromised, and children. However, some healthy young people respond very poorly too. There may be genetic differences that leave some people with greater vulnerability. Most healthy people will survive well, but they will have less severe illness, be less likely to be hospitalized or die if vaccinated.

You can present the same argument - ie that we should depend on our immune system - to oppose using the polio vaccine or for smallpox or even to oppose the use of any medications that can be life-saving or lead to debilitation.

The independent Cochrane review determined that the flu vaccine was almost worthless. I can corroborate this from my observations. Almost the entire current medical system is a scam.

They did get pretty lucky with the antibiotics thing, although at the same time, created super bugs that could one day end civilization.
