Follow the science, but not the political science.

2nd Booster isn’t necessary. Not yet.

Time.com

April 14, 2022

"Any incremental benefit of a second booster has to be weighed against the potential side effects, which include inflammation of heart tissue, especially for younger people receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, and the risk of blood clots for people getting the J&J shot.

That means continuing to boost every four months or so with the same vaccines isn’t a sustainable way to confront COVID-19, especially if the virus continues to mutate.

After considering all of the studies available so far, the committee concluded that there aren’t yet enough data to support recommending a second booster for the general population. While a second booster can raise the levels of a person’s antibodies against COVID-19, and protect them from more serious disease, that protection doesn’t last as long as health officials would like. So for the vast majority of the U.S. population, that second booster isn’t necessary—at least not yet.
The questions scientists are trying to answer now involving figuring out how strong vaccine-induced immune response is, how long the protection lasts, and whether the current vaccine is the best way to generate it. At the moment, the shots being used as a second booster dose are the same as the original vaccine, and don’t seem to be pushing protective antibody levels any higher than they were after the first booster."
Results from these studies won’t be available until summer at the earliest, so it’s unlikely health officials will recommend additional boosters for the bulk of the U.S. population until after those results are analyzed.

(I know that this is blasphemy to true believers. I apologize in advance for revealing the reality.)

Home insurance is not necessary either. I dropped it after the insurance jumped a lot this year.

My wife and I can go on a nice cruise every year with the money saved on home insurance.

Vaccines are just like insurance. Only useful when trouble strikes.

I paid home insurance for 50 years, never collected more than a small tree smashed b y a runaway car in my front yard.

Yes true. First, if you have a mortgage, you are required to carry home insurance.

If no mortgage and there are no smokers living in house, and house is fairly new with good electrical wiring,

chances of a fire occurring are extremely small. Only other risk is someone could trip on sidewalk in front of your house.

But here in Florida, we never get snow, so that is another extremely small possibility. So assume the 0.01% risk, and

I will skip house insurance.

I always paid cash for my cars, so never needed collision insurance. I think over 60 years of driving I saved enough on collision insurance to buy 2 new cheap cars.

I think it's called "self insured" when you don't buy insurance.

Insurance companies play the odds and make big money doing so.

But, like the casinos, they also have deeper pockets than most people.

I once cancelled our comprehensive auto insurance the week before my wife totaled out our car in a triple roll over.

Timing is everything...
