They are, without a doubt, the toughest weed to kill...clover is a disaster in any climate, but especially in Florida.

Fib, my front lawn has automatic watering and the saint Augustine grass is doing quite well.

Backyard has to be watered manually and it is a weed heaven.

Exactly, and in reality they aren't a weed and look as nice as grass.  In one of my places we took out all the grass and only have clover!  It's gorgeous with little maintenance!!

Palisades Zoysia gets my vote for a southern lawn. So much better than the ubiquitous St Augustine in pretty much every respect (and especially under trees) except for how fast it will seek out concrete laugh.png

 

Stuff is gorgeous and a joy on bare feet...there is just something about spending a few minutes each day walking around the garden on a dense plush carpet of green with no shoes on...
