According to my risk summation system, the days this week with the highest risk of a turn in or acceleration of the current trend in the DJIA are Monday May 16th and Thursday the 19th which might drag into Friday morning given its relatively elevated risk sum.

Last week's Monday and Tuesday risk window was a dud since nothing too exciting happened, and last Friday's risk window will only be salvaged from the dud bucket if the DJIA is down sharply on Monday the 16th, so being generous it was a mixed week at best for the risk summation system.

There's a dark storm brewing just on the horizon.  Some time ago I mentioned the risk of social disruptions caused by high food prices, well high is getting higher and the aggravating heat of summer in the northern hemisphere is approaching which should make for a volatile tender box in a lot of the third world some of which might just spill over into the first world.  Hunger breeds revolution, think 1917 and a retreating disheartened Russian army or 1789 French told to eat cake.  This can get serious and fast if governments of all stripes don't start working together quickly to solve this problem.  Playing silly political Hunger Games with this situation could backfire in unpredictable ways.  In real money like silver wheat is actually cheap, but folks don't have real money in their pockets anymore, they have funny money and wheat in fiat is getting pricey.  If the plot below doesn't turn soon, batten down the hatches, cause that storm could be a real F-5 twister.

Agree.  Supply-driven food and commodity inflation is the key differentiator this time.
