I'm sure the people riding horse and buggy's said the same thing when they saw a car for the first time. Thinking ,why do I need that... my transportation is working just fine. Until they raise the horse's feed 10 fold.

They can not switch out of fossil fuels for 50 years.
It will take at least that long to replace power generated by oil & has & coal. Electric cars are currently running on majority of power generated by fossil fuels.
