I can't remember where I got this from but the thinking was when the Fed actually cuts the market will really crash. Sell on the news?  Anyone think the market will crash when the fed cuts rates? Will it be seen as a sign of desperation? I think we have a ways to go before that happens but that counterintuitive thought keeps coming to mind. I can't remember if there is a precedent for that or not

I found it.

Bookmark this post. In our situation a rate cut is going to be seen as desperation, IMO. With the extreme record money flows into the market in 2021 & 2022 from folks who had been handed money during a big bull market and they thought they were geniouses because they made money when every stock was going up. Remember those crazy game stocks like, AMC I think it was plus you had bitcoin. So that is where alot of that money came from. How do you think those amateurs are going to fare during a REAL baby, the Mama, then Papa bear. We are starting the Momma bear stage. This year will be worse than 2022 and 2024 will be the worst and maybe we bottom that year.
